Column Questions
The standard auto column in my 79 F250 351M has seen better days looks to be unbolted from the floor. ( The previous owner gutted the tilt column for his other truck and I think just threw this one back in here) The gear indicator has been destroyed and park doesn't stay in park unless I almost bend the whole shifter and push up on the plastic stop. So I have been thinking of investing in purchasing a new column. A local upull it salvage yard has one in a 79 F150 for $75. My questions are will that one fit? Is it worth the hassle of pulling it out myself for that price? Would I be better off just buying one on ebay or someone off here? (if anyone has one LOL) Whats all involved in doing this?

Only a 78/79 will work.
4x4 and 4x2 non-tilt are different
Make sure you get one that matches.
A guy by the name of Mil1ion has tilts for sale and has a great reputation for quality items

My '79 non tilt steering column came out of a 2wd & my truck is a 4wd so the columns are the same.
