Are there any major differences in the various types of columns for an 88?
I have a standard trans column, non-tilt, with cruise controls on the wheel and I'm curious if I can replace it with a standard trans column that has tilt, but WITHOUT cruise (cant find one with cruise) and just put my wheel and harness on the new column.
The whole reason for doing this is the PO did a number on the column getting to the broken ignition actuator, and wound up losing all of the parts.
If my parts wont easily swap into a column that doesn't have my particular options, I'll wind up buying a cheap column just to rob the missing parts off of it, And I'll still be without tilt.
Also, what is the little lever on the bottom of my current column, down near the dash for?
I figured that much, I just wanted to make sure that a column that didn't originally house the cruise control would have room. Also if it would be reasonably easy to switch the cruise harness and other electrical parts needed over.
