Hello everybody. Has anybody else had the problem
of a bent axle with no damage to be found elsewhere... no wheel, no tire, no suspension or brake line damage. This is a truck that has never seen a dirt road let alone serious four wheeling!!
The dealer says I bent the axle but I really don't know how since nothing else is screwed up.The dealer said it would cost $600.00 to fix out of my pocket and personally I can't see how I could bend a supposedly tough axle and yet do no damage to any other component. If this sounds familiar e-mail me a note please.

>Take it to another dealer or have your dealer repair it under warranty. Just out of curiosity which axle do you have the 8.8 or 9.75. These are both extremely tough axles. I can't figure out how it can be bent. Another dealer may have another opinion. I have had trucks with both axles and have jumped them and beaten them off road with no failures of any kind. Did it develop this problem or did you notice it brand new?

Just for the record it was the 8.8 axle. The problem developed shortly after purchase. It felt as if a tire was out of balance. Balancing and rotating tires didn't help, the problem worsened
and finally bent axle. After heated negotiations with the local customer service rep the axle is being replaced free and the axle is being taken for inspection and failure analysis.
