The cabs on these have knockouts for the clutch to mount to, and not sure on the tranny hump, but I think there could be one there too....if not, they may have cut it, or swapped the tranny tunnel cover.
I'd be more concerned had they gone from standard to auto, as there are a lot more areas to mess things up. Going auto to standard just means there could be extra parts still on the truck that you don't really need.
Sure, but still... a hacked/sawed hole in the floorpan up here isn't a good thing (rust).
I'd much prefer if it turned out the gauge cluster was swapped at some point... I have the VIN, and looked it up, turns out the truck is from the Kansas City plant, which at first sight is strange, as I thought all those trucks sold new around here (eastern Canada) were from Ontario Truck.
Maybe the truck was imported at some point and the gauge cluster in miles got swapped for one in kilometers? I'd really prefer that and it would explain it... of course then the mileage becomes unknown.
Anyway, I think when I go back there I'll probably just double-check everything tranny-related both in the cab and under it, and unless I find it's a mess, I'll buy it.
