Two easy easy questions! (:

Okay, I was wondering where you guys get all your parts online?
What website is the best?
I know most of you probably just run to Napa or AutoZone, but if you need something special from online, where do you go?

Also,

I'm going to do the, Whiter Whites, Brighter Brights modification, later today. What light should I use to replace my current ones?
I've read some stuff about those Xtra-vision lights, are they any good?

My next question would be, what have you guys done with your taillights & taillight wiring?

Thank you all soooo much,

Andrew

I did the relays with the xtra vision bulbs, very satisfied. Online parts source depends on what you're looking for. LMC is popular but I've bought a lot from ebay.

Yes, LMC Trucks and National Parts Depot are both great parts houses for older, hard-to-find stuff.

Here are links to both sites:

Did either of you guys do anything extra to your taillights? I've been told my running lights and turn signal lights are very dim.

I have a dump bed so my tail lights are different, I've never heard of a common problem causing dim tail lights. I've seen some lenses get really dirty on the inside. If you have a voltmeter check to see if you're getting full battery voltage to them.

Maybe the lights need to be changed? I don't have a voltmeter, I should probably stop by radio shack and get one though.

Get one. It's almost impossible to do electrical work on these older vehicles without one. They are easy enough to use, and they give you a clear picture of what you're dealing with. Really, guess work on an electrical issue won't fly. Good grounds, full voltage, broken connections can only be seen with a multimeter. One of the best small tool investments you can make.

I put 92-96 tail light units in my truck. They are much brighter, and bolt in perfectly. The only downside is they don't quite match the bodylines 100%, due to the tri-angle shape of the bed and the curved shape of the lights. 5-10FT away, it's not noticable, and people who aren't real familiar with these trucks wouldn't notice it standing right next to it, unless you point it out.
