Looking to get into a 05-07 F2/350 crew

So heres the short of it, lived in NYC for a couple years and just moved back to jersey and for short notice i picked up a cheap ranger to save money, as i am a rather big and tall man, 6'10 this situation needs to be fixed immediately, Just wondering what issues i will be dealing with, problems, quirks, major issues if any. This truck will not really be used for heavy work as its main purpose is driver comfort, thanks for any advice, info and or tips in advance!

I'd say F150s and F250s have similar cabin room, especially if you go extended cab or 4 door. The new "ecoboost" F150 would not only give you more room than the ranger, but probably be almost as economical.

I own a 05 F250. The main problems you would face with the 6.0 is the egr system and stud bolts. They make an EGR delete, but its for offroad use only.. As for the stud bolts, you should be ok if you dont install a programmer or push your truck to hard. They do make a stud bolt safe programmer from Spartan tho. Another problem encountered is the fact that most dont come in for the plug cord for the block heater. Living in NY, I would probably invest in one (simple fix). Overall tho, I rate the truck an A+ for power. Would be a great investment.

is a egr replacement a big job? to keep it street legal. also what would be considered pushing the truck hard? i was mostly just planning on exhaust, intake intercooler upgrades pos blow off valve.

not sure if you are in the market for a new truck, but some people have been saying that the 2011's do NOT feel as roomy as the pre 2011's...

yeah i heard the same, i prefer the looks of the pre 2008's anyway but interior room was a bigger concern and from my test drives ive found the pre 08's to seem the roomiest

FordGiant, i would be very picky about what intake you put on a ps if you put one on at all. You don't want any particulate mucking up your turbo. Also... I don't know where you found a blow off valve for this truck, but it is probably a crock of s***! Diesel engines do not have throttle plates and BOVs let off pressure between the throttle plate and turbo. I guess there could be some use of a BOV due to engine pressure but i doubt you will see any gains from such an add on...

Yeah I would definitely go with one specifically designed for diesel applications. But I remember seeing a banks show truck that was heavily modified. Completely built engine just about everything was aftermarket. But behold there was the stock ford intake! :-)
