ive done it before and it just gave me some egr insufficent flow or something

i have a 1996 f150 302 with the 4r70w transmission my problem is when im in drive or overdrive its like my tc is locking and unlocking under light accelleration. it will do the exact same thing if im going and tap the brake pedal. it only does it when the truck is warm and if it starts doing it in overdrive i can push the button and make it go to drive and it will stop or giving it more gas will make it stop, i can also do that from drive into second if it does it. it doesnt do it in first or second gear. any ideas on what would cause this and how to fix it

First run a self test and check for any stored codes, see if the computer has anything to say about it.

I kinda wondered if it might be, take it to one of the major auto part stores and they'll read the codes for free.
