Door lock noise

I've got a door lock that sounds stripped when I hit unlock. The lock itself in the door panel (it's cheap plastic) has always been slightly bent since we bought the truck a couple months ago. I think it might have been putting stress on the lock motor. It's at the point it won't even pop the lock anymore. Is this something that I will need to replace the motor in the door?

A couple years ago, the lock on one of my rear doors started rattling and finally quit. The door lock actuator was replaced under warranty. Sounds like you'll have to do the same thing.

Looks like that's what I'm going to have to do. Looks pretty awkward to replace!

they look awkard to replace but if you are handy and patient you can do it. I replaced all of mine in my 00 excursion in 30 min each. the hardest one was the driver door. the Expedition looks about the same. and on my 99 f150 it was easy to replace the acuator. I have a shop CD that i bought off Ebay about 5 years ago best investment ever. only thing is it runs on Win XP only
