how to bypass key code for remote start?

hey guys, here is my story:

bought truck with marksman remote starter and it worked great. until...
i lost the truck keys.
ford dealership reprogrammed key code and cut new keys.

truck now thinks that it is being stolen everytime i try to use remote start. nothing major, theft light on dashboard idiot-light hud flashes.

the problem:
they dont sell marksman remote starters in canada anymore so i can't find anyone who has the equipment to reprogram the module.

the question:
how the heck to i bypass the anti-theft module?

i know that there is equipment out there to do it, i just need some ideas and info on the subject.

thanks,
spencer

Without knowing anything about your remote start circuit, you would need to place a key close to the ignition switch so the PATS reciever knows it's there and satisfys the PCM through the buss connection, as the first item.
How the remote is connected and operates is the question.
The remote would have to have a relay and control to perform the same as the ignition switch does.
Good luck.

hey, i'm a step ahead of you.

if i put a key in the ignition and turn it forewards one click and then hit the remote start the truck fires up first cycle.

the sucker was working just fine until ford messed with my ecu. all i can figure is that they changed the transponder code.

You will most likely have to find the aftermarket by pass module and put one of those newly programed keys into it to satisfy the pats system. That bypass module will have an old key in it that will not be programed to the ECU anymore .

buy a flashtuner (DiabloSport hand held tuner make sure it's for an F-150) and disable PATS. problem solved.

find an aftermarket company that makes a bypass module that is compatible for that remote start.

otherwise, you might as well pull that entire remote start and buy a new one that has the bypass module for PATS.

I think you misunderstood what I meant . I believe your truck to already have a bypass module on it . You just need to find it and take the old programed key out of the module to put a newly programed in its place. This old key I believe to be in the bypass module is no longer programed to your truck because when the dealer reprogrammed your new keys this key was probably not available to them .
If you find that old key it can be reprogrammed with your new keys . See your owners manual for instructions .

I agree with thecardoc. I just Installed a remote starter in my 99 yesterday and I had to put a spare key in the bypass module. When the dealer reprogrammed new keys, I'm sure they didn't program the key that is in your module. (The module reads the key code, then sends the same code to the PATS antenna on the key cylinder to trick the computer into thinking a correct key is in the ignition.) Put a programmed key in the module and you should be all set.

Chances are you have a chip around the ignition switch. Usually you have to sacrifice a key to get the remote to work. Now that you had keys reprogrammed the chip used for the remote start is not programed.

Worth looking into

You made no mention of your vehicle but I'll assume it's not a chev. If the truck has pats there must be a bypass module under the dash or a cut key near the lock cyl. DEI expresskits sell a PKALL that covers 99-02 F150.

You can also go to http://www.the12volt.com and they may be able to help further. I just did a quick google and found that owner's manual. There's also other youtube vids on the remote start. If you can't figure it out I'm sure any car remote/alarm installer can handle this problem... that's all i got.
