lol! I'm being serious when I say I've always wanted to built a truck dedicated to tractors. A 4x2 with a lift, big tires in the back, small in the front, leveled out and painted John Deere green. With a super low gear and some kind of I-6 engine.
And calling the 300 a tractor engine is pretty accurate. Never saw a stock tractor get in a hurry, have you? haha.
I love the 302 but I'd never want to pair it with 35's. Or a 300 for that matter. Lot of tire to turn.
hey buddy you can do a body lift there safe i have a 4 inch body lift i off road my truck jump it sometimes and they have never broke just do it right if you get new bushings and a body lift kit your looking at around 150=200 bucks
3 inches is all you're allowed to have. You can't pass inspesction with anything else. Mine is actually 3 and 1/4 because of the bushings. The inspecter still lets me pass, though.
I think a tractor themed truck would be cool. It's something I've always wanted to do!

Anything over 3" is illegal. And there is a reason for it. Body lifts are unsafe. Period. But go ahead, after all your life is worth your truck looking and handling like crap.
i dont know why all you guys think 302s cant handle big tires, i had 38s on an old truck of mine with a stock 302 and 3:55 gears and it would smolder the tires on dry pavement

You're either full of chit or have no idea how your truck was really setup.
And sure, anything can brake stand. The bigger the tire the harder it is for those brakes to hold back anyway.

Dropping the transfer case into "low range" doesn't count
What happens when you stuff a set of 38" Swampers under a 3.50 geared F150 with a stock 302 and drive into a mudpit??

What happens when you hit the same pit with a stock 460 powered F150, 3.50 gears, with 38" Swampers?

hey guy's I have a 95 f150 4x4, winter is here and I am in 4wheel. All good going straight but when I turn there is an awefully bad grind in both directions. Why is it OK going straight? Where do I look for the problem?
Thanks

You might want to start a new thread, as not to hijack this one. But my guess off of the limited info you provided would be axle u-joints.
Body lifts aren't that bad. My F250 will be running a 2" when the Cummins goes in and now that I think about it, and walked outside at 11:00 at night and looked my Chevy has a 3" and I have experienced absolutely no ill effects on the Chevy, nor do I expect any on the F-250. The right way to do a body lift on one of these trucks is to buyqa kit, no hockey pucks, no welding tube to the body mounts (although I did that on a Tracker) just break down and spend the 150-200 on a kit that will include your bumper brackets, steering extension, and shifter extension for your automatic, if you have a stick get used to the idea that your **** will be a couple inches lower and get a taller one so it's comfy again. Otherwise, a 4" suspension for one of these trucks will cost you about 600 plus a pitman arm, and clear your 35s at the lift manufacturers recomended offset and backspace.
