Definately go with some fairly thick plate for the mounting brackets to, i welded a back bumper together for one of our scout leaders to put on his landcruiser and used 3/8 because it was what i had and it bent into the rear end of his rig when he came off a ledge
i was thinkin 1/2" to connect to the fraame and ya with a 6" suspension it should make loading it with dirt interesting and hmm boy scout leader would you happen to be talkin bout boy scouts? im an eagle scout
same here man and ya thats wat i used on the jeep bumper idk why but it was in the schools shop ans i had been the only one to touch it in four years so i just cut the brackets out of it lol
I just picked up a heavy duty brushguard that came off a 2006 GMC. Now all I have to do is figure out how to mount it on my 1987 F250. Still looking for a "real" bumper.
here is mine but its for sale as i need a stock bumper for the plow mount.
Depends on the plow, some mount between the frame and bumper, moving the bumper ahead a few inches. Another option is to have some welding and fabricating done and incorporate your bumper into the plow mount. Kenpobuck did that with his Bronco, there's a thread somewhere with some nice pictures.
