My truck has the exact same plug and I can only tell you what it is not. It is not the trailer brake controller unless I have two of them. My truck came with the towing package and the ESOF 4wd off road packages and skid plates. I personally do not think the skid plate is anything to write home about. My truck also has the mirrors that protrude approximately a foot from the truck and are called extend tow mirrors but what they are in reality are HINGE FOLD MIRRORS. They are remotely adjustable and as far as I can tell this plug has no effect on any of that. I never thought of a PTO plug until a previous post suggested it, but if that is the case then I would guess estimate that there would be another plug in the area of the grille or front bumper or a switch inside the cab. My best guess was something for fog lights but that is a guess only. I think it is funny that I just noticed this today on my truck while we were messing with gauge installation. My truck is also an XLT and I was wondering if that had something to do with some other convenience group.
Thanks pop if I could type faster my reply would have made more sense. I do not mean to hijack this thread but how does a person verify the wheel base of their vehicle with out measuring it. I thought the VIN decoder would tell me, but it says super cab, reg cab, or crew cab. The question concerns me in attempting to figure out the wheel base on my brothers truck which is a 2001 F350 7.3. He bought the truck new as a cab and chassis only and then put a flat hay bed on it. The truck appears to be the same length as my super cab even though his truck is a regular cab.
Thanks I will check in the morning. This only came up when we, actually my brother was installing his exhaust earlier today. He bought it from Clay at Riffraff as I ordered it for him. Clay was nice and professional on the phone and the exhaust arrived in less than 48 hours. I am not an employee of Riffraffs or anything but right now they have free shipping on MBRP exhausts. I do not recall if I even mentioned that I heard about him through FTE, oh well, a shout out to this vendor as he was great to do business with.
