Well it looks like i need a crank. I was wondering when looking for a used crank what should i look for?? and how do id a 390 crank when its out of the block. just looking for some info so i dont get ripped off .
The 2U and 3U are the 2 most common 390 3.78" cast cranks out there. It'll be stamped into the edge of a counterweight (#7 I think). Last I looked NAPA and the likes sold them too. The 2T and 2TA cranks are the common 360 3.50" and are stamped in the counterweight too. Should be pretty easy to find.
Do you have the dimensions for the main and rod journals. One has some minor wear not scored. The flat on the #2 throw is stamped with an X. I don't see any other stamps there are a few cast numbers nothing that looks to have any meaning. Let me know if you can provide info to check. Unfortunately I just noticed that you can not send PM neither can I.
I have a friend that works in an Auto Machine Shop but they were closed today and until Monday. I'll give him a call after the weekend and will check it out. Sometimes the wheels of progress move too slow. I'll be back to you Have a Good Thanksgiving
I'm glad that you responded as I couldn't find your original thread. We checked this yesterday and it is marked 2U and is Std all journals with a couple with about .001 wear on the rod journals. I'm looking for $100.00 plus shipping.
Where are you located? Is the .001 wear difference between the journals or is that the difference from factory specs and is there any marks or surface rust that would cause it to need to be turned ? shipping would be to 26104
I'm in Mass I will get a shipping estimate tommorrow. The wear is compared to the other journals. Hopefully I will make my 25 post quota and I will be able to send you a photo
