I'm about to pull apart the drivers side to replace the stub shaft (needle bearing is shot and took the stub with it). I've reviewed all the great tutorials here and from Guzzle so I'm ready for what to expect. However, I have not found good instructions on replacing the ujoint in the front axle.
So are there any tricks or traps I need to watch for?
Looks like there are caps on the ends of the joint but I'm not sure (don't have a manual). The motorcraft ujoint does not have a zerk so is it pregreased?
If there is not a good tutorial, I'll take pics along the way.
The Motorcraft replacement is a speicer. It has SPR stamped on it. the first one made it 152k and I'm only replacing it because the stub shaft was damaged by an unmaintained needle bearing. Thanks for the suggestion.
