2001 f250 7.3 dies when put into reverse and drive.
Hey I saw that there are some older threads on this issue, although it doesn't seem to be quite like my situation. Brand new transmission 300 miles ago, heavy duty towing transmission that still shifts and drives great. However last week the truck started to die every other time when put into reverse, warm and cold. It now does it every once in awhile in drive as well. The reverse lights sometimes come on sometimes they don't. Full synthetic ATF, fluid is topped and clean. No drips, ipr is tight with tin nut secure. Transmission has plate tranny cooler, unloaded it doesn't get over 165 F usually runs at 140 F. Has hydra motor tunes that exclude the transmission line pressure increase, shifts at normal pressure. This truck feels like it's cursed, please send help.

To be honest I don't know much other than it's a TC that isn't supposed to slip to try and grab a higher gear, especially when towing. You can really feel a positive lock up when it shifts, especially into 3rd
