Assuming you used a seal that is similiar to the original, only a little thicker because it is new, adjust the latch a bit. As the seal drys out and becomes compressed during use adjust the door latch back in. A few hot days parked outside will help seat the new seal.
If you bought them from L. M. C., throw them away. They are too thick and your doors will never seal and fit correctly. I bought a set when I first bought my truck. I ended up buying them from Dennis Carpenter before I found FTE. I would suggest looking here for a set that should fit better.
True John, But Summer is coming. And so is Pigeon Forge! Can't wait, hope to see you there.
KROSATI, very true. Quality is very important, Motor Haven first DC second.
I bought my seals from Macsautoparts and I'm having the same problem. I installed the driver side door and it wouldn't close. I adjusted everything I could and still no luck so I removed them to try again another day. I know this isnt any help, just wanted to let you know your not the only one with this problem.
Do the seals have a hole drilled in them every 12 inches like the originals? If not its really hard to close the door because of air compression in the seal. Seals without the holes will wear out quicker as well.
well i read all your help and this week I will try to razor blade the front edge (hinge area) of the rubber. I think I got it too far forward and instead of the rubber slipping behind the metal edge of the cowl area it is bunching up there. I already aligned the driver door before I installed the gasket so I dont want to mess witht he alignment. on the pass dooe I liked the idea of putting the gasket on first and then aligning the door, I may try that. it the razor blade dont work i may rip the entire front edge rubber seal out and maybe try some of that stick on foam gasket stuff.
