Door seal question

Will a door seal from a F250 crew cab driver rear side work for a Ex.

I have to disagree about the shape seeing as I have a f250 door on my x now at least that's what the paint marker from the junk yard said

I don't have first-hand knowledge to answer this, but I will add this-

When you do a lookup for an Excursion rear door on car-part.com, all you get are Excursion results. Similarly, when you look up the same door for a crew-cab Super Duty, you get 250/350 SD results only. Do the same search for a front door, and you'll get mixed SD/Ex results. Car-part is usually very good at producing interchange results, and for whatever reason, they seem to think the rear doors are different between an Ex and a CC...

^^^^ What he said. I own both, a 2005 Ex and a 2007 F250 crew. The rear doors are very different. The rear edge of the F250s door is almost straight where the Ex's door is more rounded.

^^^^ To add to what warrens73 said, we can conclude right in this thread that the doors are different...

1) look at my dad's crew cab in my signature pic- the rear door window is darn near perfectly square.
2) now scroll up to superdave02f552's post (post #3) and look at the Ex in his user icon pic- the rear edge of the window angles forward as it goes up. The yard must have mis-marked the door or assumed they were the same...

EDIT- warrens73 beat me to the punch! haha

When I replaced my fronts, they were maybe 3/4" too short. I cut a 3/4" piece off of the old one and slipped it in along the bottom.

Wondering if the length of the 250/350 door seal is similar to an Ex (say, within 3-6"), and you really couldn't find one for the Ex, could you just do the same (replace it and fill in the gap with a section of the old seal)? Should be more than enough new seal to cure the 'rattle' of the doors.

My thoughts exactly! Thanks everyone for all the good info!

Body is identical from the rear end of the front door forward.

We need to keep thinking of ways to continue the rear door discussion, so I have an excuse to keep looking at the black Explorer in the example above...
