Does anybody know where i could find some. I dont want to deal with the long tubes or worry about the starter getting fried. The truck is 1969 F-250 Highboy with a 360.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
don't have the answer your looking for but i'm looking for the same thing also do shorty headers allow for removal of the starter without taking off the headers first?
I've only found one set of headers that fit the highboy....Dynomax, I believe...and they are the long style...outside of that, I think you need to get a kit and weld them up yourself.

could you change the starter with these headers on the truck? or do you have to take them off to get to the starter? which sanderson headers would work on that link posted? they look like alright headers does anyone have pics of them installed or know for sure they mount up?

I have absolutely no problems swapping out starters with them....there's a little twist involved, but it's easy to get it out and back in....just a bit heavy.
I do have to wrap my starter in a "racing blanket" though...otherwise it gets cooked in a matter of days.
I just put a set of Flowtech's on my '72. I got them from Summit and I'm pretty sure they had a set of Hedmans that would fit it too. Just be forewarned that the passenger side goes around the engine mount and I had to *ahem* modify the driver's side with a hammer to keep them from rubbing on the edge of the oil pan. It looks like it would be possible to remove the starter without removing the header though.

got any installed pics? by modify do you mean dent the header tubes in alittle bit to clear the oil pan?
I posted a question about this a while back and wound up purchasing a set of Hookers I am very happy with. They were a bit challenging to get in there (wedging up one side near an engine mount to drop them in and cross member issue type stuff), but they seem to clear the starter decently now that they're on board and I've had absolutely no problems. Slight headache to set up, but I'm happy with the end result with the performance boost and I think the truck is just happy to be breathing...

It's a 69 F250 highboy as well...
Would you happen to have the part # on hand for those hookers
They're not shorties, just to clarify, but if you're still interested I can try to get the part number to you tomorrow. Hooker Headers into dual Turbo exhaust added to the truck's hp and mpg improved. Plus, it sounds like a beast...win-win.
I have heard that the Flowtechs are easier to setup, but the Hookers won the challenge in the end for me even with the added effort to install.
i know they are not shorties but i looked into a starter blanket and im thinking thats a good way to go. Would you guys recommend having a muffler shop throw the headers on, i mean i am getting duals out the back so would it be easier for them to just do it all
