Front bumper 73 Highboy

Are the front bumpers different on a highboy vs a standard F250? I was told since the frame is narrower on the highboy the front bumper brackets are at least different, but what about the bumper itself? Anyone know where I can get a set of highboy bumper brackets for 1973? Are the brackets different from year to year on them? I'm not sure whats all different here, but I'd like to get a bumper set to go on my highboy. Thanks!

Anyone know where to get Highboy bumper brackets?
Painted (C4TZ-17757-C) and chrome (C4TZ-17757-D) front bumpers are the same:

1967/77 F100/350 (except 1973/77 Ranger XLT w/horizontal bumper pads); 1978 F100/350 (except Ranger XLT/Lariat w/horizontal bumper pads) before serial number AG0,001.

Note: 1964/66 F100/350 bumpers are similar, but the ends are shaped differently, why I said 1967/77 instead of 1964/77.

Narrow frame has nothing to do with front bumpers, because...the frame is only narrow at the rear...behind the cab.

33 1/2" width between the inner frame rails behind the cab: 1961/72 F100/350; 1973/77 F250 4WD (High Boys); 1973/79 F350 Cab & Chassis & Regular Cabs on the 140" wheelbase.

37 1/2" width between the inner frame rails behind the cab: 1973/79 F100/150; 1973/79 F250 2WD; 1973/79 F350 (except as noted above); 1977/79 F250 4WD (not High Boys).

So a front bumper off a 1977 F-150 should fit my 73 Ford f250 with no issues? No special brackets needed or anything? If so, this is great. Wow, i am learning so much about the Ford trucks here, ty.

Highboy's do require unique front bumper brackets, but the bumpers are all the same from 67-77 (front frame width is the same between the highboy and non-highboy trucks, rear width is different). 78-79 bumpers will bolt up too, but they have a different shape.

The 77 front bumper i just checked would work as long as I have the high boy brackets, but would require new mounting holes which would be like 2 inches outward on each side from the 77 f150 holes.

Number Dummy, just to clarify, is your post saying that 1973 F-350 2 wheel drive brackets would be the same?

Found a 1973 F-350 2 wheel drive today with riveted on brackets (which I found odd, because I thought the brackets should be bolted on) that look correct for my 1973 F-250 4x4 High Boy, to mount my front bumper. Anyone know if these should fit?

This is where the confusion for me lies. Yours to me looks different than 77&79F250's pic looks. I looked closer at both, but seems to be shaped a bit different, although both might bolt up to the bumper.

any consolation my bumper is off a 2 wheel drive 77,that I will be sending to tri city to be dolled up.I didnot have to drill any extra holes to make the two wheel drive bumper fit on the 4x4 truck.,,,my picture is a highboy truck with the highboy frame 1975 F250,,,the bumper fit perfect and then I picked this up on craigslist for next to nothing, even these bumper bars are specific to early years and the later seventies

Weird, because i took the bumper i will use off a 77 F150 two wheel drive sitting here, and it will NOT fit my 73 F250 high boy, without brackets. We looked at it several times. No holes in the front of the frame rails to mount it on the 73. The 77 f150 mounts on the end of rails.

The F100/350 front bumpers (chrome/painted) are the same 1964/77 & 1978 before serial number AG0,001.

F250 4WD's and F350's require bumper brackets (see post #10), but F100/150's and F250 2WD's do not.

These bumpers have two mounting holes per side. If optional chrome front bumper guards with rubber pads are installed, the bolts of the guards fit into these holes.

The bolts for the optional push bar (aka brush guard) also fit into these same holes.

1978 F100/350 & Bronco bumpers from serial number AG0,001 and 1979's look different, but either type will fit.

1961/63 front bumpers look similar to C4TZ's, but have three mounting holes per side using a triangular pattern.
