I just got a s468 for my 6.7CTD and now i have a good HE351 just gonna be laying around. Anybody know of someone doing this sawp yet? I think it would just be a fun project.
Is the he351 the common rail variable vain charger. I think it has some weird flange. Iirc there is a company making a stand alone controller for them on a 24 valve.
Fleeceis the ones who make it. Yes they are a wrid flagne but i can make a adpater. They come on the 2007.5 to 20116.7 cummins engies. I think it would be neat
IIRC inducer is 60mm on the 351. The 451 would be cool to put on a PSD. IIRC the 451 is like 64mm or something. I'm trying to convince my brother into putting a 351 on his VP 24v.
I believe the 400 series is likea 64mm to 68mm depending on which one cause the 400 series is on the iscto ism. The ISX uses a 70 something. IDk if the 400 would work well cause its so bigi think it would hit the hood. Iwas looking at a 551ve off a isx and was gonna thorw it on my truck but decided that i wanted my truck to sound good and nit worry about the sector shaft frezzing up. Still i thnik once i get my truck done im gonna try this 351 on my 7.3
IMO the 351 won't flow the air that our 7.3's need to make much of a difference. The exhaust brake feature on the HE's is nice, but we can get that from our EBPV already. The only real cool thing is the variable vanes and the potential size of the exhaust house w/ vanes fully opened up. The 451 would be a good turbo and could be made to fit since the pedistal will be lower in the valley already. Plus the 451 has a larger exhaust housing for our displacement to use and take advantage of for less backpressure
