Since purchasing my '00 X a couple months back I have been slowly upgrading parts as time (and finances) allow. The next modification is installation of '05 headlights. I started working on the project today and so far have removed a fair amount of material with the dremel per the instructions. I'm running into fitment problems though and am getting tired of all of the trimming.
My question is this. I am planning on doing a full '05 front end swap. Can I purchase and install the '05 header panel now assuming I update the grille as well? I know it will work with the headlights and grille but didn't run if I could run my '00 bumper at the same time. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
The bumper might fit, but it would need to be loosened and dropped a little since the 05-07 grilles drop down lower. The grille mounting panel for the 05-07 has the lower clip points for the grille lower and located in a different spot.
Thanks for the response. I assumed it wouldn't fit but wanted to check just to make sure. Guess i'll just have to bite the bullet and purchase everything at once now. Need to scour the forums to find a full parts list, the local Ford dealer wasn't very helpful when I stopped in a few days ago.
