EcoBoost Drive Tour
I really, really want to see the price and mileage numbers. They were VERY careful not to say anything useful about that which worries me a bit.
Kind of like a drug dealer's first free taste.
As far a mileage numbers, I have heard 5% better than the 5.0, which would put a 4x2 at about 16 city/22 highway. Of course for months I have heard 17/24 (which it might do in a regular cab 4x2 with 3.15 axle.
I'd say that $1750.00 is a reasonable price (though $750.00 more than a 5.0) for what you get.
Hope the mileage numbers hold up.
I think if mileage figures are at least 16/22 it will be worth it. It has gobs of torque and will be a great towing truck. I just need to see some towing figures for the ecoboost compared to the 5.0 and 6.2 with a 10k load.
Test drove the new 2011 EcoBoost today at 9:45 AM EST. The test drive event is in the western NY area this week Monday, Tuesday and part of Wednesday. The truck was a Lariat supercrew. The driver said he thinks the truck had 3:73 gears. Compared to my 2009 Supercrew with the 5.4 and 3:31 gears that thing was sweet. Would have loved to hook up a trailer and give it a try but only had 15 minutes with the truck. Might head out to the local dealer on Tuesday evening and try to give it a 2nd test drive. But for a few more minutes. There was no window sticker to look at. As the driver said they are test mules and some things might change slightly before they hit the lots around Febuary or March of next year. Driving in from Michigan he said the lie o meter was running between 20.5 and 21.5 MPG.
