I have an 2001 v10 4x4 Ex that the abs light is on. All pads are good. I checked the fuses. I cleaned the sensor on the rear end. I sprayed cleaner where front sensor leads go into hubs. I unhooked negative battery to try to reset. Light still on. Any suggestions. THANKS JOHN
With out getting it scanned for the codes it will be hard to tell if the rear or one of the front ones. That said, after you cleaned everything out and unhooked the batt for a bit, did you take it for a short spin. It seems that once the light is on it will not reset itself untill you take for a short spin. I guess it needs time to take a new reading and reset. I had to fight with one, and took it apart several times, and still had the light there. Finally after several tries I gave up, and lol, the light goes off.
mine came on the other day after driving through deep snow. it flashed for alittle bit well i was stopped but after driving it went away and the ABS worked flawlessly.
if its on constantly though, it sounds like it may be time for a new sensor or two.
Definitely get the code pulled before you replace any parts. Sometimes cleaning the sensors will work as they get dirty and can prevent the pickup from working correctly - throws off the AC signal.
Tire off, rotor off and then you can bend back part of the shield to get at set screw and get the sensor out. Or you can pull the whole hub and not bend the shield.
