Hello I am new here and I am insearch of some vital infomation about my 93 F-150 4.9. I am comtemplating an engine change and I have a shot at an engine from a 91 F-150 4.9 with very low miles like 39000. I know it will fit as far as bolt in and all but what I need to know is the emissions devises compatable ?
What is the difference in the cylinder heads as far as the air tubes if any for starters ? Thanks in advance
Thanks JRW... I wonder if there is anyone with a Hollander interchange manual. I was kind of thinking the same thing but when I inquire about another engine at most salvage yards they ask about air tubes in the head or in the block
I found out what I needed to know , According to the Hollander interchange manual 90-94 engines are the same as long as it has the federal emissions standards and it has the air tubes in the head as mine does. Some has the air tubes in the exhaust manifolds and also has the California emission standards
