Hi yall,
Iv used this place for lots of help with an engine swap. I have a 1989 7.3 international and want to get some more power out of it. Im not looking to do turbos or injectors because th cost. Im only 18 and want some safe cheap power. I know hte pump can be turned up but im not sure what direction and how much. Iv heard 1/8 to 1/2 turn. Is this accurate? I dnt think it would hurt myE40D trans. How bad will this hurt fuel ecomomy not that im to worried about that. I ran a custom 3" stainless tubing exhaust to get the gasses outfaster and keep temps down. Any other ideas are welcomed
Install a pyrometer if you haven't already and YouTube had a couple videos describing the process. I'd go one flat at a time watching the pyro to make sure and remember black smoke is unburnt fuel and while fun to see on the track, it doesn't belong on city streets.
For best results, as close to the last cylinder in that bank (either passenger or driver's side) as reasonably possible. Personally, I have stock exhaust, so I drilled and welded the plug for the probe just after the 'Y'. For me, that was the easiest place.
