I tried the cheap route, and after 2 weeks of "no ship" called Ed and had them the next day. Can't say enough about his customer service, his beer selection is a little weak, but he has great service.
My vote would be for Ed as well. OEM parts (reliable parts) and fast shipping
Thanks Clay for stirring the pot..lol
I have allot of respect for ED he seems like a great guy, Coastie had asked about aftermarkets (we don't carry the OE ones), that's the only reason why I even bothered to reply.

I can hook you up and make you a great deal so you can sell them too.......
No war Tony is right, I was asking about aftermarkets, but was just looking for opinions of those who'd used them. I have purchased some parts from 1A for my old F-150 and a Jeep and I've been happy. Besides, they are about 20 minutes from where I grew up.
I know that for most components OEM is the best option if you can afford it, think bearings are probably one. Although I have heard Timken was good, I think I'll save a bit longer and do the OEM from Ed. Of course, I'm expecting a cold unit in the box too!

Agreed. I have purchased non OEM parts before and have had some success and some failures. I will say Timken bearings are generally a safe bet. The only time I don't purchase OEM is when I need the part that day and/or I don't have enough dough saved up at that moment for the particular part.
I am getting ready to replace the drivers side hub (seems common). My question is this: Timken=$384 Autozone=$229. Both parts carry only a one year warranty. Is the price difference because of the name stamped on the part? Or is there a bigger issue here? This is my first HD and I'm finding that parts are to danged expensive to keep replacing.
I would order the OEM one from Ed or from a local dealership. NAPA has one with a 3 yr warranty (same one as OEM, but OEM is 12 months) The cheaper ones are not of the same quality metals. The Ford one and NAPA 3yr one are from DANA, the others are copycats. You will also need new studs (trust me, its worth the extra $12) and possibly a O ring for where the hub slides into the knuckle (my OEM didnt come with one)
Here is a thought on this subject.....my original Hub assembly has around 96000 miles on it. That is with slightly bigger tires and some off road driving (nothing to severe) and our wonderfull PA POS roads.
When I bought my passenger's side it came with the wheel studs but not the studs that hold it to the knuckle. MAKE SURE YOU GO BUY THE FOUR STUDS AND NUTS IF THEY ARE NOT ON THE HUB. WE used heat-vise grips nothing pretty to get them out. I keep 4 of them in my tool box now. I have also been told that they now come with studs but I have not bought one in awhile so I can not say. With the above prices I would go through ed you know the rest OEM BABY.

Yeah those are the studs I was talking about. Neither the OEM or the NAPA ones come thru with studs now. I tried using heat and a small pipe wrench, but they werent budging. But like I said, for around $12 for all 4, is it really worth the headache and hassle of trying to remove the old ones?
People have heard me harp on this before. I really had concerns if it would hold after we removed and re-used the studs so we removed it from the garage and the following night replaced those studs to be certain.
