replace the windows from a donor (junkyard truck) and learn how to use your garden hose.

You can polish them out, it's a pain but the results are very good. Eastwood has a kit for polisihing deep scratches out of glass

Mine have the same thing and I was told it had nothing to do with not washing, but that the seals under the window were faulty from the factory and didn't create a tight enough seal. Although they won't cover any replacement. the guys at the dealership said that there was a service bulletin about it, but nothing that they were going to fix for free. Mine are pretty bad as well. Quite frustrating. I may see if I can find some from a bone yard. Great idea.

SIDE GLASS SCRATCHED DUE TO COLLECTION OF DIRT/DEBRIS IN WARPED OUTER WINDOW BELTLINE MOLDING
Publication Date: March 3, 2006

FORD:
2005 Excursion
2005-2006 F-Super Duty
This article supersedes TSB 05-17-1 to update the vehicle model years.

ISSUE:

Some 2005-2006 F-Super Duty and 2005 Excursion vehicles may exhibit the outer window beltline molding warping around the lower window channel. The condition may be described as warped or loose outer window molding. There may be a pucker or gap between the window beltline molding and the window glass. This may result in dirt and debris collecting between the molding and the glass and scratching the side-window glass.

ACTION:

Use the following Service Procedure to replace the outer window beltline molding and adjust the molding flange.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Lower the side door window completely.
Remove outside mirror.
Remove outer beltline molding by lifting it up away from the flange (Figure 1).

Figure 1 - Article 06-5-8

Raise side door glass completely.
Measure distance from inboard surface of the door beltline molding flange to outboard surface of the window glass (Figure 2). Distance from flange to glass should be between 5/8-3/4" (15.30-18.30 mm).

Figure 2 - Article 06-5-8

Lower glass completely.
Adjust the door molding flange to meet the 5/8-3/4" (15.30-18.30 mm) dimension. Do not adjust flange more than 3/4" (18.30 mm) away from the glass.
Install a new lower window beltline molding.
Reinstall mirror.

Dont waste your time with a polishing wheel. Ive used those several times, it would take a hour to polish out a 4" deep scratch, then you would have a distortion starting to show. Those work well on a light scratch or a rub mark but nothing that catches your fingernail. That was on the laminated windshield, the tempered door glass would take even longer. The junkyards windows are most likely scratched also, maybe not if you're lucky. Getting a new door from a local auto glass shop and installing it yourself wouldnt be too expensive and its not that hard to do.

What about breaking them and calling the insurance company? Say some broke into the truck or it got vandalized?

Probably not the smartest decision by an adult, but I suppose it would work...if you're into insurance fraud.

I've tried to think of every possible solution as well, and have finally settled on just leaving as is, even though it sucks.
