Engine Pics

Good Evening Guys/Gals

I just bought an '89 F150. Body is pretty clean but the engine was pretty rough looking. Lots of grime and appears to have an active oil leak. Anyway, I have found a few threads that have pics of engines but thought it would be cool to have everyone post their engine pics on one thread. Let's have both the finished product and those that show the road to the final product.

thanks for the forum

I have a few, I only did a cam swap, and the other go fast goodies got put on 3 years ago after I had so many problems with the old 1bbl carb.

Then here's my nephew's, which is much more drool worthy:

GFW1985, that is crazy!! Would like to hear that run. jjaguda, super clean, I like it. I would love to get mine that clean but it looks like i'll have to keep the smog equipment for another 3 years from what the inspection guy said. The truck still has to pass '89 emissions.

I used one port for the power brakes vacuum booster, I had a 4 speed so didn't need a line for trans vacuum. Both ports are full vacuum so to answer your question...Yes you can use one port for transmission vacuum. Instead of blocking one off I installed a nipple in the other port and put a rubber cap over it, this way I could hook up a vacuum gauge for tuning by just removing the cap! It worked great!

I actually started with a 390, but I'll start with the j/y 300 pic.:

And then I ended up with this (twice--the first engine failed for reasons yet to be determined).
