Beautiful I-6 engines. Here's mine, totally stock '86 F150. I *think* there is a 300 under there. Somewhere.

Stock is nice! Many years ago, an older gentleman who "lived" and collected fine classic cars and instilled in me the love of older automobiles said that the longer one maintains a vehicle in the original stock form, the more rare it will become!

I agree! I think this has a lot to do with the fact that stock parts themselves become rare. Maintaining the stock components becomes expensive, as the original parts become increasingly more difficult (and expensive) to come by.

Looks a lot like my 85, only cleaner. Someday I'll get all the oil leaks fixed.
But love the 300, just wish I could get better MPG.

You guys have done some nice work here's the 240 in my 65. I'm gathering parts to do a few upgrades soon, got the EFI exhaust manifolds and carb, still need the cam kit and Offy C intake.

Very nice. That took a lot of work! It sure do look good. Did you go through the engine or just 'shine it up?'

Wow - that's a great "before and after" set. Your engine looks great, just perfect. Except perhaps that "orange can of death"! Might consider a Motorcraft or Puralator Pure One oil filter on the next change

Thank you, it took a little elbow grease for sure, lol. It was a Ford remanufactured engine from the late 80's and ran pretty good so when I pulled it, we just resealed it. Did pull a few rod and main caps, very little signs of wear, cylinders looked good, valve seals still plyable so we painted it up, turned the flywheel, new clutch and back in she went. Did a p/s, p/b and disk swap while we were at it. The autolite 1100 started giving me some problems and I figured if I was gonna throw some $$ that way, might as well add a little hp. Just trying to figure out what cam kit now, been trying to soak up a little info from here to help with the decision.

Thanks.....The orange can of death is already gone, lol. When I bought the truck it came with a new one in the parts box so, I used it after the restart then changed the oil and filter, it now has a motocraft.......

These have to be my three favorite 300 pix. The black Clifford build, with twin carb intake, just looks ominous. Then the 400 hp s/c just speaks for itself.

And then this one of two 351 heads on a 300 makes me hope that someday there will be reliable X flow head for our engines. But realistically, each year demand is dropping as more of them are recycled.

Great looking motors! Yea, I keep hoping someone will come up with a good production cross flow head at a reasonable price but don't think it will happen now.

here is mine prior to touching up some of the parts where I screwed up with the black. but its the clearest picture I have.

I would almost be ashamed to take a picture of it right now, this one was easily taken a year ago.
