Hey guys, I need alittle advice on this, I beleive my carb needs to be rebuilt, the idle fluxuates alot, the accelerator pump is leaking as well. I've rebuilt carbs in the past. How hard are these to rebuild? I have the motorcraft carb... I know Napa has a rebuild kit for $65.00
I assume you are talking about the 2150a EEC computer feedback carb. on your B2?
Not hard to re-build, but keep in mind it has a TPS sensor and a vacuum/electrical solenoids operating off it as well.........I have had little luck getting the rats nest of vacuum lines and wires surrounding this carb to ever perform like intended, after 26 years its doubtful any of it is working as intended and may be much of the idle/drivability problems encountered.
The best fix for these 2.8 v6 Rangers and B2s is to toss the EEC, carb, distributor and go the dura-spark route, it will run much better, perform far better and be more reliable.
