Carb ID

Hi,

Brand new member here, so please bare with me.

Need help identifying the carb so I purchase the correct carb rebuild kit.
I have a 1972 F100 with a 360 and a 2 barrel Motorcraft carb. I have the numbers off the engine tag if needed. I even took photos too. Appears to be the stock carb, I am just paranoid about buying the wrong carb kit.
I am pretty good at the basic stuff but have never rebuilt a carb before.

thank you.

We're not clairvoyant so help us to help you... please post the numbers and post the pic. Thanks!

Kits sometimes cover variations of the same model and may contained parts that may not be used on the particular carb.

It is probably an autolite 2100/ motorcraft 2150.

But It could be a lot of other things too. So like hio said. Help us help you.

The carb may have been swapped out over the last 40 years so look for a tag and numbers on the carb.

Motorcraft

Ok,

No tag on the carb. Only can find the Motorcraft name, obviously just a two barrel.
Best I can tell, I can't post pics or attachments since I am so new.

Everything else on the truck, minus the back bumper, is stock.

The kit is a Walker 15369D. Basically, if you have a Motorcraft carb from the 50s to the mid 70s, that is the kit for it.

No such thing as Motorcraft prior to 1972, FoMoCo purchased Auto-Lite in 1961.

1971: US Gov't forced FoMoCo to sell Auto-Lite claiming FoMoCo had a monopoly on auto parts.

FoMoCo then started in-house brand Motorcraft, all the Auto-Lite parts/part numbers became Motorcraft parts/part numbers.

Left: 1972 Ford 302/360/390 (Motorcraft 2100 series) 2V carburetor showing 9J549 choke pull off diaphragm (introduced in 1970) / Right: 1964/72 carb ID tags.

Clock numbers

Hi again,

Yes, HIO Silver that photo looks like my carb, just not as shiny, dam.

Ok, daylight sure helps with seeing the Clock numbers.

The numbers on the clock face say 1.21 There are some sort of dots and whatnot inbetween the 12 and 2 position of the clock but I must be getting old because I can't make it out. Tried taking a photo with the smart phone and zooming in but its all Greek to me.

Thank you for all this awesome info. Learning alot every time I read.

According to the Ford Carburetor Guide from Pony Carburetors, flow figures for the Autolite 2100 carbs are as follows:

.98 venturi = 190cfm
1.01 = 245
1.02 = 240
1.08 = 287
1.14 = 300
1.21 = 351
1.23 = 356
1.33 = 424
