Preamp Outputs

I am looking at a cd player. The standard one have 2volt preouts. For twenty dollars more I can get 4volt preouts. I am going to have to 500watt amps coming from it. How much better sound will I get with the 4volt preouts? If i get the 2volts then I can probably get the player off ebay for real cheap.

Pay the extra 20 dollars and get the 4 volt Pre-outs.

the headunit is the most important part of a system, spend the extra money. you should buy a headunit with a built in equalizer and crossover if your running subs. you get what you pay for, try to avoid ebay

I agree.
get the 4V preouts, but you can find a good deck on Ebay, just know what you are looking for.
Like anything else, your system is only as good as the weakest link, so make sure you get some good quality speakers, and make sure the amps are of good quality, not swap meet specials, that claim they are 500watts, and actually push 500 watts of distortion. I used to install Car audio and security, and believe me the no names are not worth it.
