I changed the EGR and the EO cooler over the weekend and now have no boost and a P0472 code. I believe this is the exhaust back pressure sensor. I don't remember seeing a sensor in the exhaust that I could have disconnected. Can anyone help me find the Exhaust Gas Pressure sensor? I have been reading through the Tech Folder and find lots of useful info but nothing that has helped yet.
It's basically on the drivers side exhaust manifold. Actually there is a steel tube that comes from the manifold which you have to follow to the sensor depending on the year model. On an 05 it's mounted about halfway down the manifold on a bracket that bolts to the FICM and a valve cover bolt. It may simply be disconnected OR a bad connector. Also, now is a good time to clean the tube as it sometimes gets plugged with soot and gives a false reading.
I was pretty tired after the weekend and forgot to post the year, yes, its an 05.
I'll check tonight when I get home for the sensor and continue the coolant flushes. I added a home made coolant filter while changing the coolers and flushed with VC-9. After three flushes the water is still black so I must be doing some good!
Am I doing any harm by running without boost? (I did see it get to 4 psi a couple of times). I don't seem to have any smoke and the exhaust has been around 750 deg F on acceleration. Hopefully the computer controls the amount of fuel used based on the boost measured.
I do have the newer style EBP sensor that is under the coolant makeup tank. It was unpluged and the connector was hidden behind the breather tube. I must have disconnected it while removing the FICM. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for letting us know the problem was solved. Glad it was EASY!!!
Ok so I have read all these posts on the 05 and the EP sensor issue, however, I would like to know if any of you know where to find this little ******* on an 06? I have downloaded the 6.0L bible and searched just about everywhere on the web, but can really find a good picture of it. I think I may know exactly where it is but I want to make sure before I start pulling ish. Thanks.
Thanks Critterf1 and I'll be sure not to have a grandson with a dog collar.
That's the advantage of grandkids, you can always pick up your toys and go home when the going gets tough!
We served our time with kids and are enjoying the grandkids, no dog collars yet!
