under body frame oiling how to ??

I thought about doing this before, but I am still trying different kinds of paint. Once I commit myself to the oil, there will be no changing my mind, since the oil will prevent most everything else from sticking.
I was going to use my paint gun, thin the oil a little bit and spray it on. I guess you could try one of those pump-up insecticide sprayers also.

thanks for the replys.
what would i need for a hand sprayer?
used oil mixed with anything?
ive heard trans fluid, kerosene?
kerosene make me a little nervous
when i was in the navy our ship caught on fire in the atlantic ... oil vapor in the ventilation system
