I have Bosch GP's in my truck at this time. They have been in for about a year with no troubles. The plugs I took out were also Bosch. Only two were dead and no swelling or any other problems. They were at least four years old. I know the Beru reputation and I have a set for next replacement, but I can't complain about Bosch.
Crankcase Depression Regulator. It is an emission control device that routes crankcase emissions, essentially oil vapour, to the intake and reburns them. It also separates oil from the vapour and returns it to the lubricating side of the engine either through a valve cover or the valley pan. It is designed to close under acceleration so that excess oil is not sucked into the intake and if it is faulty or very dirty it will not close. My '89 is equipped with an aftermarket turbo and the cdr looks like a salmon can and is mounted to the intake between the air cleaner and the turbo on the left side on the engine(as viewed from flywheel) and has a hose going to the left valve cover. Non-turbo engines drain to the valley pan.
Glad to hear it! Post another update in a week or month, hopefully that cleared it up.
TJC:
Did you mean an injector sticking open longer than it should, or not opening?
Cause an injector not opening wouldn't cause those issues, just crack a single line on your truck and drive around to find out. Power will be out a little and the sound will be funky but no smoke for sure, will rev just fine.
But sticking open makes plenty of sense
lol wreckinball
you know what a cdr is? if not, clean it out and get er done
Just a thought, my first idi had sticky injectors but i didn't wanna drop the money since i was at college for new ones, long story short addin seafoam at every fillup took care of the problem, now i do it with my new one just to keep everything clean
