Hey there guys! Have a minor problem with my 1991 f150. I recently installed new headlights because I believed were burnt out. Reason was because the little light on the dash didn't show up.. But there was a tiny change I could see regardless of the indicator light comming on. Slightly brigher. So I replaced all worked for about a week then bam back at square one same thing?
Matt, what is the condition of the switch on the floor that you press with your foot to switch between low beams and high beams? I'm asking this because a while back while my truck still belonged to my boyfriend there was an issue with that switch, you'd have to step on it just right or it would not do anything. The light on the dash cannot be used to judge whether the headlamps are burned out or not as it seems to be wired together with them, and not after them - the light will come on even if you have the head lamps physically unplugged, as I found out once... If the switch on the floor is bad, however, there will be neither light on the dash, nor high beams up front.
Glad I was able to help, I'm still learning about these trucks and what little I know is from me watching and/or helping others work on their trucks. That switch is very poorly placed, however, thankfully my boyfriend already moved it to where I can actually step on it good.
