This is a very common problem. Open up the doors and right where the door latches (on the door side) spray a healthy dose of WD40 or similar lubricant. Shut the dorr a few times and you are ready to go. Good luck and welcome to the site!

I've had to do the same a few times too. I just used WD40 liberally. Spray in the door latch with the door open. Open and shut door a few times usually does the trick. Don't know what the results are with silicone spray.

HMMMM... are you spraying on the latch that is inside the doors? Did you do all of them? This usually works well.

I had a very similiar prolem. Don't give up the fight yet. I would go back and spray more. Odds are, you didn't put enough. I have to spray mine every 2 or 3 months with plenty of goop...........Good Luck

THe actual switch is on the inside of the latch. YOu just get lucky by hosing the latch down to get some on the switch and free it up. it can be a real pita to change the switch, but the sw itself is pretty cheap.

I had the same problem. Sprayed some wd40 in the latch and it worked like a charm. No more watching the stupid dome light go on and off at 15 miles per hour!

i had the same problem on my 98 f150 ext cab, before i upgraded to a SUPERDUTY. they are all right, you got to just soak the latch in spray and must do this every couple of months. don't give up it will eventually free up.

I read somewhere on the site that if the wd40 doesn't work at first to try sticking an air hose in the latch to blow the wd40 in. Worked for me anyways.
