PLEASE HELP: Can't Disconnect Fuel Lines from '08 F-150
As far as I know, I've properly done everything to replace the fuel filter on my 2008 F-150. However, I can't disconnect the fuel lines from the filter. I tripped the inertia switch, ran the truck 'til it died, soaked the connection points with penetrating oil (in case rust was the issue), and used the plastic disconnect tool. After all of this, I pull and pull and pull, with no result; the lines simply won't budge on either side of the filter. I don't know what else it could be. I need the issue resolved ASAP, so I can get back to driving to work regularly. Seriously, I'm one more rage-filled outburst from sawing off the filter and yanking the lines away from their tiny metal captors with pliers! Please help me.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I rode that horse. Do yourself a favor. K-D tools makes a disconnect kit for all of those spring ring connections. It comes in a plastic case and has an assortment of well made metal split ring disconnect tools and instructions. I think it was about $70, but like all good tools, its something you'll always have. The plastic tools just don't cut it.

The plastic tools will work. There are two different sized filter lines. One is 3/8" and the other is 5/16". Have patience. The tool is supposed to slide into the open end of the line fitting , then while holding it in that position the filter should come loose with not much effort. The wrong size tool causes a lot of frustration... Watch out for splashing gasoline.
