I know everyone has there opinion on what tire brand and type of tire they like. But I want to know if you all think a skinny tall tire or a fat tire is more applicable for the SD's. I mean when it come to offroad use. Whether it be a personal perference, experience, the way you truck is set up, or if you just think one performs better than the other, I would like your input.
I have the same tires you have on your rig now. I find that they tend to cut in and dig into the mud a little too quick. They're not exactly mud tires though. I got in some clay and they dug right in for the front, but the rears floated fairly well. A lot of that was the weight of the diesel in the front though.
go look in the "Suspension, Tires and Wheels" and the "Offroad and 4x4" forums.... i think you find a wealth of info about what tires and treads do best in different situations.....
sometimes you want a tire to dig, sometimes you want it to float.... all depends on the type of mud, sand, dirt, or rocks you are trying to play on.
basstardo, Yea I have noticed that my front end seems to sink pretty quick. I only venture off into mud to get across my place, no snow or sand. A couple of steep ditches and some small tracks of mud.
I was thinking of putting a 13.50 33" or a 12.50 35", just wondering how some others made out.
