What are some good all terrain tires for a 2000 Expedition 4x4 with the 17.5'' wheels. I want some tires good for offroading but want it to be good on the street a well. The truck mostly sees street duty, occasionally offroading. I want to use the factory wheels and don't want road noise from the tires.Tire size doesn't matter, I can recalibrate the spedo. Just wondering what everybody else has or thinks which tire to pick.
I would run 285/70-17 GoodYear Wrangler Silent Armor tires. These are my new favorites. I used to run BFG AT KO's but found the GoodYears wear better and have far better winter traction (if that matters for you).
BTW, your wheels are 17" or 16", not 17.5", there is no such animal.
I JUST INSTALL SOME HANKOOK A/T ON MY NAVIGATOR. THEY ARE VERY QUITE ON ROAD. I HAVE NOT HAD THEM IN THE SNOW OR OFFRAOD YET BUT THEY LOOK VERY CAPIBLE. DYNAPRO ATM. I GOT THE STOCK SIZE INSTALLED FOR $140

Just ordered a set of these Wrangler Silent Armor's in that size. They'll be installed next week some time. It's winter up here, so I'll be able to report on snow and ice performance soon.

It's been around twenty degrees the last little bit, and I took the expy out for a romp in the snow today. Tires performed well on slushy streets and snow covered parking lots. Went looking for some deeper snow in an industrial park and they felt like they chewed through the snow really well.
I have been very happy with Dueler A/T Revos on the Expy and the 2wd work truck. IMO they are the best all terrain tire out there and are worth the price.

They were also discontinued by Bridgestone this past summer. They have been replaced by the REVO II but old REVO lovers do not seem to like them as well.
