I just bought my first truck a few days ago and I'd like to hear what everyone thinks.
Its a 95 f150 xl 4x4, plain as plain can get. It was actually owned by the state conservation department for its whole life and only has 114,XXX miles on the stock 5.0. I found a maintenance book in the glovebox and it never had more than 500 miles put on it in a month.
Relatively rust free, there is a quarter sized spot starting on the driver side cab corner but everything else is clean. Only other blemish is a 2 inch long gouge in the passenger side door but that doesnt bother me too much right now.
I've been toying with the idea of lifting it and putting a bigger tire on it but not sure which route to take.
4 or 6 in. suspension lift with 33s or 35s? What do you all think?
I dont need it to be a monster but I love the look of this bodystyle with a little lift under it.
Only things I've done to it so far are put in a bedliner, replace the black grille with a chrome one and start to put in a new head unit but last week I went and bought a parts truck and stripped out the headliner, bucket seats and console, and some tube nerf bars.
What else can I do to make this a beautiful truck?
Also I'm not exactly sure how to post an image in my thread but you can see what I'm working with in my gallery.
It took me over a month of looking at trucks when I finally came across this one.
Saw the ad on CL and my dad went and checked it out while I was at work, called me and asked for my permission to buy it right then and there, he said it was that good.
He brought it home and I wasnt disappointed one bit; good healthy truck with a lot of potential, ya know?
Good find , i like the 95s , it will have a roller motor , and should have SFI with mass air , the best efi system ford made.....Lew
Thanks for the bit of knowledge.
I'm nowhere near ready to build onto the engine but eventually I'd like to put some good heads, intake, and a few other normal goodies onto it. I got plenty of time cuz this truck isnt going anywhere for a long, long time.
