I had Firestone airbags on my last truck. They worked great, but I don't need the bags this time around. What I do miss is the on-demand air system. The full-duty air system it came with was awesome for keeping my truck and my trailer's tires aired up at the right pressure.
So, I'm thinking of the Firestone system again, but I want other's inputs as well. I see ARB and Viair have systems available. I don't want to run airbags this time around, but I am going to plumb air to both the front and back of the truck. Full duty cycle is a must, but I don't necessarily want a large tank unless there's is room to mount it to the frame. I don't want to take up any bed space with some of the larger tanks I see online.
I have a couple of Viair pumps mounted under the right side of the cab, outside the frame rail. I have a 5 gal tank mounted outside the frame on the right side just ahead of the right rear tire. Lots of room for accessories under the cab and box. Out of sight and out of mind.
I'm gathering parts together and will begin the install of my onboard system, most likely, this coming week. I have a viar 350c compressor (rated at 100% duty cycle) which will be mounted behind the rear seat and a 5 gal tank mounted outside on the pass side frame rail, just behind the cab. I'll post pics as soon as I can.
