Since this subject is about tuners, I have one about mine. Before I joined this site I had bought a Banks power pack system in 2007 for my truck. I have had no problems with mine but i'm just wondering if I wasted my money and should have bought something else. I dont see anybody talk about Banks products so i'm thinking I wasted my money. Can anybody tell if I did or not. I dont have the programmer on my truck just the chip but I do have the Six Gun programmer on my Excursion with a banks exhaust.
Depends on what you are looking for. If you want a little better power from stock, the Banks will do that. But if you want some real power, go with a custom tuner/chip. I had to almost keep a guy from throwing his Banks Six Gun programmer out the window after I gave him a ride in my truck with the DP-TUNER.
You didn't wast your money if you are happy with what you have, but you did wast your money if you want more then what you have.

I am happy with what I have. I wasnt looking for big power just a little more then stock because I do tow my 10,000 lb camper maybe twice a year. Plus I didnt want to spend big money upgrading other parts on the truck. Thanks miller I feel alot better now.

The reason I got the DP-TUNER was because of towing. I was towing very heavy loads a few hundred miles a few times a week. I had a Superchip which is an off the shelf tuner just like the one you have, then went to the DP and the towing is so much better now.
Yes you can save lots of money because the Banks don't have enough power to really hurt anything. Still good to have gauges.
Just got rid of my superchip and ordered a f6 chip from dptuner. I believe the superchips is what cause my transmission problems. Just waiting on the chip to be shipped.

When the chip come in, come back and tell us what you think..
I'm in the market for something new also. I bought my truck used and it had a gold Superchip installed in it. Apparently decided to give up after 10 years of living under the dash. I was finally able to figure out why my truck was dying though without having to go to a repair shop. I already miss the firmer shifts and better throttle response. It seems most places have gone away from the chips and gone to the tuners, either switchable or plug and download. Do any of them offer better fuel economy as well as more towing power or is that just a side-effect of being re-tuned?
Everyone has switched to programmers because that is the easier way to control the newer trucks. For us, a chip is still king. Sure you might get better fuel economy, but that shouldn't be your reason for buying one (unless that's the excuse you give your better half). Recovering your investment in truck modifications with fuel savings is very difficult to do unless you've got several years to do it.
