drive train for 52 f1

I am starting new on my search for a drive train for my 52 f1. Craigslist has crown victorias, town cars and big mercs for reasonable prices. Would any of these be good swaps for my pickup. Which years would be the best to get the aod and computer controlled fuel injection.

If you can find one of those cars from the late 80's or early 90's that runs good for cheap, they will provide a great donor heart for transplant.
