Well according to those in the know tomorrow starts production of Job 2. Of course these things have a way of changing, but I imagine any delay would be days and not weeks.
I'm pretty sure you aren't going to see 3.73 gears and honestly they aren't necessary. My 6.7 with 3.55s and a taller overdrive ratio than my 6.0 with 3.73s are no comparison. In 6th gear with the converter locked, the 6.7 will lug down to less than 45 mph and respond immediately when you press the pedal. The 6.0 couldn't do any better at 50+ mph and would usually have to unlock the converter to do that much. Overall with the 6 spd now instead of 5 and the improved torque of this new motor, 3.55 is plenty of gear for a SRW. There are days I even think I should have gotten the 3.31s.
Seems like your dealer is feeding you some bs if he told you the Job 2 dates aren't out, they've been out for quite some time (months).
I ordered mine on 10/12 and it's listed at the top of the DORA that it's a Job 2. Request a copy of this (DORA) from your dealer. It'll give you all the details of your truck, and is what Ford uses to build your truck.
Changes below are the Job 2 changes, straight from the order guide. No 3.73's for the Diesel (and from what I've heard, you won't need 'em):
JOB 2 ORDER GUIDE UPDATES – Effective on all

I can see why they chose the XL and XLT (work trucks) but I don't understand why it can't be an option for the Lariat and KR packages.
Those can be "work trucks" too.
I ordered my truck last week Thinking it would be a Job2 Will it be?
I thought i read that Nov.2nd and after build dates are job 2
As most of you know i had such bad luck with my last job1 i swore i would never buy another Job1
What will the changes be from Job1 to Job2?
I would like 373 gears on a SWD F250
I asked my dealer and he does not even know when the Job2 dates are
And said that the list for Job 2 changes is not out yet! How can that be?
I also asked when i get a Vin. he said in a few weeks
he thinks under 6 weeks til del.
I can't wait to try a Diesel again
Thanks in advance
At this point it will definitely be a Job 2. Job 1 scheduling was balanced out about 3 weeks ago and all orders that were not already designated as Job 2 were converted.
Is there any reprogramming that will be available to the job1 trucks that will allow any of these features? Any what is the sync restricting on the job 1 trucks? IDK which one mine is...its only 3 weeks old.
