I'm stranded! I just stopped in the Starbucks drive through, shut engine off to talk to drive through attendant, and no start. Engine turns over, but no start. Had to push her out of the way. I tried unplugging ICP, and no luck.
I just did and EGR delete and Bullet Proof Diesel external oil cooler. Truck has been running strong with no issues for two days, now no start up. Any ideas please, I'm stranded at the moment.
Okay, I've gotten a ride home. Let me explain this a little better now that I'm at a PC.
I just did an EGR delete and external oil cooler. Oil cooler added 4 qts to the system. Finished 100% with truck last night, drove around, no issues, then helped a buddy try and get a run away trailer out of his steep muddy yard. Worked the beast pretty hard, and blew off the inter cooler hose at the elbow by the EGR valve. No biggie..... Then drove 30 minutes home. Truck ran like a horny bull.
This morning went to a friends house, same thing, ran like a champ! At friends house, watched half a football game, then left and drove 10 minutes to a Starbucks. I shut her off to make my order, and then no crankie crankie. Turned and turned, but no crank. Had to push her out of the drive through. No other symptoms like running rough, long hard starts, smoke or anything. Just all of a sudden, no startup
I've read several other post on many different forums. My ICP is up front on the right valve cover, I have a late build 2004. So do I still not have an STC fitting? Can this be my ICP sensor? What about my HPOP?.
I'm ready to take this thing and drive it through the dealers showroom, and burn it to the ground. This truck is going to bankrupt me.
Sounds like you need to roll up your sleeves and start w/ the basics:
1. Electrical: Batteries test OK, fuses and relays all OK (specifically look at FICM fuse)?
2. FICM test OK (Tech Folder threads on testing FICM)?
3. Getting fuel (secondary fuel bowl filling up)?
4. Getting oil from LPOP (for firing injectors - is your oil filter filling up)?
There is a no start checklist in the Tech folder that discusses these and MUCH more.
Up in the mountains today shut it off to walk around and it would not start. Been hard starting for a while and I think I have some bad injectors. Dang thing is sitting way up in the mountains might get to winter there. It is a 2004 6.0 power stroke. What things can I try up in the woods to try to get it running?

I'm running again. Turns out it was just some pinched cable(s). Don't know which one yet, so I will be doing some disassembly and exploration of the area I wiggled some wires that brought the ole girl back to life. So I don't have to fool with the FICM just yet, or replace injectors (knock on wood)....... so on and so forth
