I need some help in figuring out why I'm getting the P0279 Code for the #7 injector. Its the only code that I'm getting. I checked the voltage at the FICM per the tech folder, and I'm reading 48.6 volts all around. So that looks good. I also check the resistance at the 4 pins on the #7 injector and they read 13.12, 7.75, 13.35, 7.58 MOhms. I pulled off the #5 injector, and measure its resistance for a sanity check, and it was the about the same. Does anyone have any clue what I should check next. I'm at lost as to what to do now. I also checked to see if I have a short at the injector harness pins, which I don't. I'm puzzled. Appreciate any insight.
Thanks,
Mike
Measure the resistance between pin 1 and 2, which is the open coil, and between pins 3 and 4, which is the close coil. The service manual says they should be .4 to .6 ohms with the engine cold.
Thanks David for the clarification. I remeasured, and on the open coil (1-2) I have .4 Ohms. The closed coil, I'm not reading anything. I did the same on the number 5 injector, and was able to get .4/.5 on both sides. Does this mean the #7 injector is bad? If so, whats the best place to get one from?
Yeah. It sounds like the open coil is burned out, so you'll have to replace the injector.
I really don't know the best place. www.partsguyed.com is a good dealer who gives good prices online, but there may be other sources. I'm sure someone will be along with more information.
