Hey guys I took out my back seat the other day to go 4x4ing & I had never taken it out before & di not really pay attention when I was removing it & cannot figure out how the bar goes back under the front of the seat. Can anyone explain it to me or send me to a site that might have a diagram?
One side of that spring bar connects to the floor bracket. Look for a notch in the bracket. The short side fits in the notch. The other side which has a longer end on it lays up against the seat. the longest portion that runs between the brackets fits into a small notch. Sorry, I am doing this from memory. It is 12:30 am and snowing outside, so I can't really look at it or take a picture of it for you.
Good Luck,
Mike Babyak
What is the purpose of the bar? There is a bracket with a notch on both ends of the seat, does the longer handled side of the bar go on the drivers side or pass side? It would be real cool if you could email me a pic??
Thanks!
THe bar is like a "torsion bar" of sorts, and is there to help you
tilt the seat forward. Do you need it?? Nope... I didn't put mine in
the last time I put the seat in, and it's no big deal.....
One end of the bar is basically straight, with a little dog-leg bend, pointing 90° to the long section. The other end is a curved hook, pointing parallel to the long section. The dog-leg end goes into the notch on the bottom of the seat on the driver's side and the hook lies on the floor bracket on the passenger's side.
