Depending on how mechanical you are.........it's not a hard job. Pull the door pannel off ........unplug the harness from the motor.......ck to make sure their is voltage comming to the motor with the switch in both the lock and unlock position. If so....if you notice that everything works fine manually........you may need to replace the motors.....which i have done in both of my doors. You just have to grid the rivet holding the motor to the door.........and manuveur it out of the lock system. A new motor from ford is between 100-120(rediculous if you ask me)......you just have to put the new motor in with either a new bolt or re-rivet it in.........should take under 20 minutes......anyway, that's my take on it........just make sure everything works mechanically with the lock and what not before you buy a new motor...........it's hard to return electrical parts. Worst case............pay someone to fix it........
Don,
I was wondering where you got your switches for $30? My sons Bronco door locks quit working then worked for a few weeks & now have quit again. Any ideas?
my power lock motors worked and then didnt thenworked again and it was the motors not the switches. if you change the motors dont grind the rivets off they will unsnap from there mounts and then you can snap them back in.

You should diagnose the problem before spending money on it. Does NEITHER switch work? See if the lock motors are getting power when the switch is pressed (maybe by seeing if any current flows at the fuse panel). If they get power but don't work, the motors are bad. If not, see if they're getting voltage (at the motors). If they don't get voltage, the switch, wires, or fuse/CB is bad.
