Diesel E4OD same as Gas E4OD?

I've been dealing with this harsh shift engagement problem for quite some time. I tested sensors, checked fluid, pulled codes and got nothing, im getting to the point where im just going to buy another transmission that i found for cheap, however I'm not sure wether or not its going to work because I have a 94 F150 with an E4OD, and the trans I'm looking at is out of a 93 f250 with an E4OD. Its the same transmission, however im not sure if the bellhousing is going to match up with my 302. Anyone know anything? The diesel's engine is a 7.3L IDI

There are two bellhousings in this generation of Ford truck:

300/4.9L I-6, 302/5.0L V8 and the 351/5.8L V8 all have the same bellhousing.

The 460/7.5L V8 and the 7.3L diesels all share the same bellhousings, which are different from the smaller gas V8s.

yup!!
diesel and gasser transmissions use different bellhousing bolt patterns and are not interchangeable.

That's why I asked I did learn that while shopping, digging, looking for a ZF. I would think with the different torque / RPM ranges gasser Vs Diesel they would be but I do not know for sure.

Gear star E4Dd

i just had a company named gearstar build me my tranny and i love it. from start to finish the whole build for a level 4 Tranny build was about 4000 dollars and that included the standalone computer for the e4od from compushift...... plus the tranny has a 3 year 36000 mile warranty on it you really cant beat it the computer came with its own complete cut to length harness with plugs already on it making it a true plug and play system. the system also is complemented with a tps that hooks up to your carb if your running one like me. the same company aslo makes a nice bracket for tps mounting for a lokcar cable set up.........the set up is awesome ill put up pics later of computer system and all
